Old Fashioned Ginger Bread


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup Dannon® Natural Flavors Vanilla Lowfat Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup molasses

Glaze * *Glaze Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of confectioner’s sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Dannon® Plain Yogurt
  • 1 tsp. lemon zest


  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease an 8x8-inch pan.
  2. Sift together flour, spices and baking soda, set aside. In a large bowl mix together sugar and oil and mix well. Add egg and continue to beat. Add Dannon® Natural Flavors Vanilla Lowfat Yogurt and molasses and mix well.
  3. Add flour to batter and mix just to blend. Pour batter into a prepared pan. Bake gingerbread 35-40 minutes or until skewer comes clean. Cool cake before glazing. Mix all ingredients and use as directed above.
